Another of SmartStart’s senior leaders, Emily has been with us for 3 years having achieved a Diploma of Sports Development from CIT. Emily is a superb basketball player and has represented the ACT for 8 years! She currently coaches youth teams in Belconnen and works for the HOOPS program.
Emily believes that SmartStart is an important program because it ‘’educates kids at a young, impressionable age, to set them up with the right knowledge and strategies for healthy life in a fun environment.’’ As well as the SmartStart assessments and HEELP, Emily has also been involved in the Kangoo Jumps program and was one of the leaders at the successful holiday program run at the YMCA Vacation Care in February 2012. Emily travelled across the United States in 2011 visiting both coasts. |
