SmartStart Physical Fun!

A specialised program for children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder

SmartStart is very excited to commence our Physical Fun Program in 2012, in partnership with Learning Ways, AAACT and Campbell High School. Physical Fun is a program adapted from HEELP and aimed specifically at children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). SmartStart was successful in acquiring funding for the program from the ACT Community Services Directorate in the Innovative Grants Round and we will be able to offer a fun, rewarding, challenging and unique physical activity and health education program to around 70 children on the spectrum. Following a small pilot run in 2011, Physical Fun is the only program of its kind run in the ACT.  All of the SmartStart staff have undergone specialist training with Kara Potter, the Director of Learning Ways, and are set up for what we believe will be a very exciting, fun, rewarding program. For more information on the program, please do not hesitate to contact Leanne Davis – the Program Manager
